Hi Kay, be very careful. Being in an abusive relationship is complex. The abuser breaks down their victim, they are manipulative and exert a power over them, creating a cycle that makes it very difficult for a victim to break free. A victim who tries to leave can be even more harmful to her than staying. Many victims experience increased violence when they try to or succeed at leaving their abuser. Those who try to help also expose themselves to the violence of the abuser.
